Wireless, or How Qwest Sucks
I had a "introductory price" for a year of Qwest DSL. It was 36 bucks for 1.5 mbps. Sure, that's not great, but it was cheaper than Comcast (60!) and it worked. Well, now that introductory price is done and they feel it fit to charge 50 for their crappy internet. I called them, told them to drop my price to 36 again, or no more customer. They said, "goodbye".

I decided to try out the new Minneapolis Wireless. It's 35 bucks for 3mbps down and 1mbps up! I've hooked everything up, and here's what I'm currently getting:
Yay Speed!
So, yeah apparently they go with the Comcast model of giving you more bandwidth if it's available.

They give you a big Omni Antenna and a spiffy wireless gateway. Later I may try to set up a Linksys router with a linux firmware to be the router. We'll see about that.

By the way, I fail to understand why these communications companies don't try to keep customers. Do they even want to make money? I would have gone with Comcast, but dealing with them always leaves me a bit unsatisfied (they are also not interested in keeping customers).

Speaking of customer service, I ordered the wireless service yesterday, and by 12:30 today I was already on the internet. Try that with Comcast.

That upload speed is phenominal! I can't wait till I can get rid of the comcast ball and chain in favor of something more snappy.
